Chicken manure is an excellent organic fertilizer for plantation, gardening, landscaping and top soil production. It contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other nutrients which are beneficial to the plants. In addition, the nitrogen carried in the organic fertilizer is insoluble thus acting as a slow-release fertilizer. Organic fertilizer also has advantages over the use of regular artificial fertilizers avoiding certain problems associated with the regular heavy use of artificial fertilizers. The advantages include retaining soil moisture, improving soil structure and mobilizing existing soil nutrients so that good growth is achieved with lower nutrient densities while reducing wastage. It reduces the necessity of reapplying artificial fertilizers regularly and extensive runoff of soluble nitrogen and phosphorus which leads to eutrophication.
